NEWS Tuesday 21st April - Some of our members went to London to the HOUSE OF COMMONS where we presented with a Kids Count Award. We got to meet MPs and celebrities and everyone had a great time in the capital. For more information click here. Saturday 7th February - We visited a Yorkshire Wildlife Trust reserve, Potteric Carr. We all had a great time watching the wildlife and exploring.

Click to see them here. 12 January 2009 - We are officially UK Watch Group of the year. We made several posters which summarised all last year's work (especially as it was our 20th birthday). Thank you to Bobby, Laura, Ian, Lizzie and Sue for all their hard work in the Christmas holidays; we will be presented with our wellie trophy soon! Here is our press release... 17-21 August 2009 - The date for the 2009 Tunza International Children's Conference on the Environment Click here to visit the website Monday 27th October 2008 - Ian received his wildlife watch gold award. In order to achieve this prestigious prize he worked for 3 years completing 8 separate challenges such as spending a year researching one particular species to writing a poem. More information here. October 2008 - Molly, Emily and Maisie, members of wildlife watch, won the Young Community Volunteers competition with a project about water safety, mainly focussing on a local area called lakeside. This involved production of a video, creating a new sign for lakeside and setting up a group to keep lakeside clean. They won £600 worth of vouchers to spend! August 2008 - Castle Gardens opens in Malton, located behind the Old Lodge (entrance in Orchard Fields) it is now restored to how it formerly was. May 2008 - Design competition held for the Malton and Norton bag for life, a new green alternative to plastic bags. Totally biodegradable they are now available for purchase in local shops; the competition was ran by one of our ex-members Hannah Keal.
